  1. Rm Harrington

If you are in the business of buying content, Journal Research Publication works great as a story submission base. Here at Rm Harrington Short Stories, I purchase science fiction, fantasy and related-content articles. I needed a quick and easy way of tracking the submission, responding to the authors and collecting side data. After trying several of the off-site submission formats, I decided that I would rather keep the process under my personal control.

Thus the search for a reasonably priced article submission control system. With the purchase of Journal Research Publication, my search ended.

So you ask, why only a four star review?

As the program description defines, Journal Research Publication is more in the order of a library software. This slightly misses the focus of a company that buys short stories and the likes. Now if the Journal provided a bit more user control, it would have been perfect. However, as it is, I was forced to inject a bit of custom php formatting. That is con 1.

    Now as to con 2

I find that Journal is rather resource-expensive. This means that it adds too much overhead to my site loading time. As such, I was forced to established a sub-domain for the sole purpose of taking the submissions. For those with the training and skill, such a process is easy and relatively inexpensive. However, not all bloggers have such skills.

In conclusion, Journal when used as a general article submission control center falls short in a few minor areas of application. Yet in the long run, it is the best solution I have been able to find.
